The high quality Japanese models have a metal knob, the low cost, low quality Chinese copies usually have a plastic knob and plastic internal workings which tend to wear out very quickly.

Very sturdy

A very sturdy tally. The base is strong, so mounted to a board or something like that, it will stay put without bending. On our site we have three mounted on the side of the shed door frame to keep track of trucks picking up loads from stock piles and the tallys have never missed a beat.
