The Scala Penetrometer (also known as a Dynamic Cone Penetration or DCP) is used to determine the penetration resistance of a soil. It is manufactured in accordance with NZS 4402, it is an extremely useful field tool for profiling soil strength at depth. Available in both Standard and Heavy Duty models, the components are available individually or as a complete kit. The kit comes complete with a hard wearing, multi-layer carry case. Also recommended to increase longevity of both the equipment and the operator is our Scala Extractor, a handy tool for extracting the unit from the ground.
